electronic signed to pet shop boys’ label parlophone after the demise of factory records, and their catalogue was subsequently re-licenced to the company in 1993, when engineer owen morris remastered the first album for reissue. all the songs benefited from a sharper, brighter mix, especially idiot country, tighten up and gangster, but the artwork was given a blander feel, using the black and silver design from a 1991 poster. the different packaging signified both the remix and the inclusion of getting away with it, but if the album is reissued again then the first single must feature as a bonus track separate from the original tracklisting (along with the other single tracks) and the factory cover should be reinstated.
