the best electronic collaboration with neil tennant gets a suitably lavish treatment. it’s by far the most extravagant video they were involved in, and features dancers, giant props, split screens (a little like the cover of new order’s imminent album republic) and swirling computer generated effects. lyricist and singer neil tennant takes most of the limelight here, with marr and sumner holding up cards, miming on guitar and keyboard, and standing either side of a ten-foot arrow. brilliant. howard greenhalgh was subsequently hired by pet shop boys for ten videos of their own, including the memorable go west and can you forgive her? clips.
